AI and data

Computer vision

Cameras that inspect, count, and read, on the shop floor and in the field.

Overview

A camera and a trained model can check every part, not a sample, and never get tired at the end of a shift. We build vision systems for quality inspection, counting, and reading labels and meters, running on the edge or in the cloud.

What you get

  • Visual quality inspection
  • Counting and tracking
  • Reading labels, number plates, and meters
  • Edge devices on the shop floor

What we offer

Computer vision, in detail

Pick the parts you need. We scope them together, quote a fixed price, and build in two-week steps.

Quality inspection

Surface defects, missing parts, and wrong assemblies caught on the line, with images saved for review.

Counting

Boxes, bags, and parts counted automatically at loading bays, conveyors, and gates.

Text and code reading

Labels, batch numbers, number plates, and analogue meters read from camera images.

Safety monitoring

Helmet and safety gear checks, and alerts when people enter restricted areas.

Edge deployment

Models running on small devices next to the camera, so the line keeps working without internet.

Training on your parts

Models trained on images of your own products and defects, and improved as more examples are collected.

Where it fits

Typical projects

  • Inspecting machined or cast parts for surface defects
  • Counting bags or cartons loaded onto trucks
  • Reading vehicle numbers at a plant gate
  • Checking that packaging labels match the order

Technology

What we use

Well-supported tools with a long runway, chosen for the project rather than for novelty.

  • Python
  • PyTorch
  • OpenCV
  • YOLO
  • ONNX
  • NVIDIA Jetson
  • Azure AI Vision

How it works

From first call to production

Every engagement follows the same shape, so you always know what happens next and what you will see.

  1. 01 · Week 1

    Scope

We sit with the people who will use the thing. You get a written scope, a fixed estimate, and an honest note about what we would cut first.

  2. 02 · Weeks 2 to 10

    Build

Two-week iterations against a shared board. You see working software every fortnight, not a status deck.

  3. 03 · Launch week

    Launch

Staged rollout, real monitoring, and a rehearsed way back. We stay on the call until the graphs go flat.

  4. 04 · Ongoing

    Run

Patching, alerts, and a monthly review of cost and reliability. Leave with your code and your documentation whenever you want.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How many images do we need?

Often a few hundred examples of good and defective parts to start. We run a short proof of concept on your line to find out.

Will it work in our lighting?

Lighting and camera position matter more than the model. We assess the site and recommend simple changes where needed.

Does it replace inspectors?

It usually changes their job: the system checks every part and inspectors review the doubtful ones and handle exceptions.

Have a project like this in mind?

Send a paragraph about what you need. An engineer replies within one working day, and you get a written scope with a fixed price within a week.
